Concerned over reports of threats in Pakistan's elections, US

US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby has said that the US is concerned about reports of threats and voter suppression in Pakistan's elections. "We're concerned, we express our concerns about the reports that we've heard from Pakistan about intimidation, voter suppression and things like that," John Kirby said at a press briefing at the White House. .

 

John Kirby was responding to a question raised by several members of the US Congress regarding concerns over the way the election was handled, the White House believes that the Pakistani elections were not free and fair. The US administration, the European Union and the UK have called for an investigation into allegations or claims of interference in Pakistani elections.

John Kirby said, "Watching it very closely. As I understand it, the votes are still being split." So international observers are still taking a look at these complications. In addition, the spokesperson of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, said that not only in Pakistan, but everywhere in the world, there should be a full investigation of the allegations like fraud, that is why they will continue to demand the investigation of the allegations.

Mathew Miller further said that he is keeping an eye on the situation in Pakistan, looking forward to working with him after the government is formed in Pakistan. A coalition government is formed when no party has a majority
