Star Pakistani batsman Babar Azam ended the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 season in style as he emerged as the tournament's highest run-scorer.
Babar Azam scored a crucial 47 off 43 balls in his last match for Rangpur Riders, helping his team reach a total score of 175/4 against Dardantu Dhaka.
His team won the match by 60 runs as they defeated Durando
Dhaka who were bowled out for 115 runs in 18 overs. The 29-year-old scored 251
runs in his six innings at an average of 50.20. He managed to score two fifties
and maintained a strike rate of 114.61. In BPL, Babar Azam scored 56* against
Sylhet Strikers, 2 against Khulna Tigers, 62 against Durdanto Dhaka, 37 against
Comilla Victorians, 47 against Sylhet Strikers and 47 against Durdanto Dhaka.
It may be noted that Babar Azam and other Pakistani players
who were in Bangladesh have returned home as their NOCs were valid till
February 6, they will now engage in preparations for the Pakistan Super League
(PSL).
