Pilgrims visiting the grand Masjid al-Haram in Makkah were banned from bringing water cans and bags with them. According to Saudi media, while talking to Al-Akhbariya, Saif Al-Salmi, the supervisor of the gates of Al-Haram Mosque, said that it is not allowed to carry water cans and big bags. However, it is the responsibility of the management of Masjid al-Haram to provide all possible comfort and convenience to Umrah pilgrims.
He said that some pilgrims bring big bags with them due to
which others have to face a lot of problems, that is why there is a ban on
bringing big bags and water cans in Haram Sharif. But the designated officials
are instructed not to allow anyone carrying water cans or large travel bags to
enter Masjid al-Haram.
It is being told that the main purpose of this ban is to
provide convenience to people during Tawaf and Sa'i in Haram Sharif, because
some people who come to Masjid al-Haram carry large bags or bags with them,
which contain their extra clothes or other belongings. It happens and pilgrims
try to carry such bags with them inside the Haram Sharif, but due to this,
Tawaf and other people performing Sa'i have to face a difficult situation.
Other people are disturbed due to road closure due to keeping the goods in the
corridors of Masjid-ul-Haram.
