Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed MoUs on defense cooperation

Arab News and the country's official news agency SPA, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman met Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed two MoUs for cooperation in the defense sector. The ceremony was attended by Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Abdul Rahman Bin Muhammad Bin Ayyaf and several senior officials of the Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

In addition, the new ambassador of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq has said that the relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are very deep, it is a sign of trust and friendship, the very special relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan is the cooperation between the leadership and the people. Contact is there, there are more than 2.7 million Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia who have contributed a lot to the development of the kingdom because we in Pakistan call Saudi Arabia our second home, I would say the first priority that we need to strengthen. They are economic relations.

He said that the proposed oil refinery at Gwadar port is the most important Saudi investment in the country. The trade deal will be done and then we will move towards construction. Pakistan has Saudi investment potential in many sectors, mining is one, oil refinery project is another, agriculture is another sector where we are very interested. And I think the Saudi side is also interested in this because this investment helps to improve food security in Saudi Arabia, so these are all areas that we need to focus on and my goal is to It is for us to make progress on it.

Ahmad Farooq said that Pakistan's army has played a very important role in strengthening the defense of Saudi Arabia and the relations are continuing. We are continuing to support the training needs of the Navy, there is still a strong contingent of military trainers from Pakistan who are permanently stationed in Saudi Arabia, we are also looking at such opportunities in the future. How we can cooperate in meeting the equipment requirement, some joint production in defense equipment and things are also being considered.
